Final page of the Jack Remix. The original can be found at www.pholph.com. For a description of it, please see the first page. Done as a kind of self-challenge to remake a bad web-comic.

I'll talk more about certain aspects of this remix here now that we're at the end. Here's the rest of the explanation I typed after finishing this in April:

'When I made the comic I knew I couldn't do anything seriously Christian because I'm not religeous. I wouldn't be able to do that stuff any kind of justice without a load of research so instead of making everyone mad with stuff I don't know I went a slightly different route. I chose Paradise and Underworld to be my good place and bad place. It would still be spiritual that way but more obvious this was my own world and gave me more play with how it all worked.

Jack was both the Sin of Wrath and the Reaper so before I could create my version of him I had to have his backstory. I wanted to keep it similar to the original but make more sense. Not an easy task. The best I came up with at the time was: Man created the furries with Jack being the first. Man was so different from him and from reading the history of man he learned they wouldn't accept him and his kind. He developed hate for man, finding discrimination of his kind. What he didn't find he searched for. Tragically, through series of accidental events, his lover was killed. The final straw, he crushed man. Wiping out their exsistence and his own along with it somehow. His punishment was to serve as both Wrath for the act of wrath he extended on man and Reaper to ferry all the souls he sent. To take no pleasure in the acts, his memories were removed and the guilt remained (though he was unsure what it was from). Jack is still an angry individual both steming from his personality and as the Sin of Wrath however from his own guilt he tries to be a better person.

Fnar, to me, is more suited to a conscience for Jack. Fnar does have his own story but conscience for Jack is his main purpose. He is a blank slate but an infant/child first and thus he is needy and selfish but not without redeeming qualities. When he's first introduced he's an infant spirit but as the story goes on he learns more and ages (I tried to make him look slightly older as the arc went). For much of the early stories (if the arc were to have continued) he'd stay young looking. As he learned more and more, he'd grow to adulthood eventually being a competent individual. In my opinion, since he grew up in the Underworld he'd have a great understanding of it, possibly more than any angel and a better view of it than any sin. I had an idea where he may even overthrow the Devil and start taking an active role in redeeming people closer to the end of the overall story. The idea, of course, steming from when they find his mother and finally redeem her and eventually a few others.

Fnar's mother at first wouldn't know Fnar having never met him and also due to her punishment (or something I haven't ironed out everything). Not that she forgot her life like Jack but more that she was a lazy individual in life always taking the easy route until the easy route and a drug overdose/freezing to death killed her. Her punishment was to work endlessly in the Underworld which may make it so she doesn't have "time" to talk to Fnar. Or something like that. Anyhow.

Panda-cat-hippie-angel is there strictly as exposition, but he may serve as a character for future stories. I didn't explain it in the story, and should have, but he's supposed to be a new angel and that's why he doesn't know about Jack being Wrath & Reaper. Should have explained it, I know, that's bad story telling but I did notice that at the end. I'd explain that in a future story though, and perhaps give him a name. Like... "Joi O'Paneting" and that'd be our little secret.

There was some more story things and idea's I had if it had been me writing all along but I can't remember them all. The last thing that was worth while to put in is the overall message that Jack learns after he goes all "Regarding Henry". Basically "I spent my life thinking everyone was against me. It took an eternity of death to realize I was against myself".
'

I hope you all enjoyed the Remix. It was a lot of work but it was a fun project.

I really like this remix. It has a better story and is drawn much better. Please keep working on it! (and yes, I know you have quite a few second chapter pages)
